Louis Vuitton's Trevi Purse

What does Trevi mean? Well, I had to do a Google search to find out the meaning of this odd word.

After searching for several minutes, I couldn’t really pinpoint the actual meaning of this word. Some said it had to do with the three streets leading to the “Piazza dei Crociferi” in Rome, Italy. But then I thought for a second… Why would Louis Vuitton use an Italian word to name their new handbag from Paris? So, I continued to diligently search for other sources.

Within a few seconds, I found another web site which defined the word, “Trevi” a little bit differently. This source mentioned that the word was derived from its Latin origin: Trebiae. In Latin Trebiae is an ancient Italian town and comune in Umbria. This town overlooks the Clitunno river system (citation: Wikipedia). Once again, the word has some Italian connotation to it! I was extremely confused, so I decided to do one more search.

Finally, I found something that looked a little bit more pleasing. This source mentioned that the word, “Trevi” was a type of intergovernmental forum or network full of European national officials (Anderson, M., M. den Boer). This sounds more along the line of LV!

Anyways, look at all the trouble I went through just to educate our viewers about the names that Louis Vuitton chooses for their handbags.
