Nintendo DS Free with Handbag Rental

I was browsing around the net and I found this article which talked about the video game console company, Nintendo, releasing a promotion for women. I decided to continue on and explore the article more in depth.

The online handbag rental store, Bags to Riches, has a promotion going on for ladies. Women, who rent a handbag from their store, get a Nintendo DS along with their handbag for 1 month free of charge. Don’t you think this is a bit absurd? Why would Nintendo to such a thing?

Well, Nintendo’s marketing strategy is to allow women to be fashionable and up to date with modern electronics. When other women see a lady with a Nintendo DS, they probably would assume that the lady is fashionable and up to date with the newest electronics. Nintendo has always been known for their non-traditional marketing ploys and this is yet another example.

What do I think? Not a bad idea I guess, I wouldn’t mind giving it a shot…
