Handbag Donation

Tis the season to give back. Most of the time when we think of giving back during the holidays, we think of toys for needy children, or canned foods to soup kitchens…often though we forget that we can donate our handbags as well.

Come on ladies, I for one know that it can be hard to part with our precious handbags, especially when we spend so much on them…but we all know there are a couple of bags that you’ve either grown out of or never even used that’s sitting in the back of your closet. You and me may be fortunate, but there are women who can benefit from your donation.

If you’re interested in donating, there are plenty of drives going on. One you might want to check out is fredala.com. This company is located in Beverly Hills and they’re accepting your donations and giving them to La Posada which is a two year transitional home for teen mothers that are part of the New Economics for Women (NEW) Program which increases awareness in job preparation and parenting to those who need it the most. Freda LA first started donating only work handbags to the residents of this program, but has expanded to backpack, diaper bags, and handbags as well.

There are perks to donating to their drive as well. For every bag you donate they will give you $20 of coupon credit to spend on their website for their new handbags and accessories. If this drive doesn’t interest you, you can always search for others. It is the season about giving, so why not give one of those bags that is collecting dust in your closet to someone who will show it some light?
