Some one please advise me. The rioni bags are described as being made of canvas. However, the one I bought looks and feels like plastic. Is it really canvas with a plastic coating or what the heck is it?

Hey Judyroo,
Most Designer Handbags consist of a monogram print body. In order for the monogram print to be visible, they use a type of vinyl—and in the designer handbag field, it is politically correct to call this material a: “designer canvas.” The name sounds a lot more pleasing to the ears.
If you get a chance, take a look at Louis Vuitton’s web descriptions for their handbags.

Vinyl or canvas, it seems to be of very good quality, and I believe the leather trim is authentic. However, I was very disappointed to find that the piping around the edge of my handbag IS plastic, and I am concerned that while the canvas and leather will hold up against time the plastic may become brittle and crack.
