Shoulder Straps are Back!

Remember back in the days when every woman carried their bags over their super padded shoulders with extremely long straps? Personally I hated the style. I always preferred the bags w/ handles where you could place it on your arm, or carry them in hand, or on your shoulder. As the mid-90’s kicked in, I thought the long shoulder straps were outrageously ancient and would always cover my face if my mom was really carrying one of those bags while out with me. However, now I do have to admit that these shoulder straps are making their comebacks. And you know what? They’re really not as bad as I used to think of them! Maybe it’s because I’ve had 15 years to realize that my fashion taste back then probably wasn’t as tasteful.
For some reason, I’m really loving the look of shoulder straps now. You can carry it over one shoulder or across the body which means you can do things hands-free! Kind of like going hands-free with a cell phone, but with a bag. Now you can hold more groceries in your hands without compromising your handbag, or look through a rack with both hands! This is great news for all you klutzes, including me-I’ll admit, I’ll be carrying my handbag with tons of other things in my hands and on my arms and I ALWAYS drop things. And it really makes me feel incompetent. What’s also so great about shoulder straps is that it gives you more of an elongated, longer body figure that we all desire. It also gives more of an earthy look to you, makes you look more relaxed and more comfortable. Some people might think it looks more hippie-ish, but what’s wrong with that? Nothing, just as long as you’re not still set in the 60’s Woodstock.

You have some good points; however, I disagree with your idea about shoulder straps yielding an elongated figure. I’m short, so shoulder straps make me look even shorter
I still like your post though… Keep up the good work!
