Big Handbag

With changing times, comes changing fashion trends. This brings me to talk about in this blog post—the concerns of the latest changes in handbag fashion trends. Are big bags “IN,” anymore? Read on and I’ll tell you what many have to say about big handbags.

First things first, big handbags are not proportional to the contours of a woman’s body. Many women complain about their enormous sized handbags not being proportional to their body sizes. Some women say that large handbags make them appear shorter—directly affecting their self confidence. Besides the proportional issues, women also complain about the quality of larger handbags.

Many big bags are made using cheap materials these days. Many women complain about their new large handbags breaking or ripping in a matter of weeks (immediately after they just purchased the bag). Why is this? Handbag manufacturers use cheaper materials as a means of replacement to compensate for the higher costs (the large size of the handbag body) used in making these large handbags. Besides the fact that cheap materials are being used, the most important reason why big bags are getting to be less popular is the fact that these bags are extremely heavy on the shoulders.

Big bags are just too heavy! Heavy bags require girls to have both, muscular shoulders and a high threshold for pain. Girls have a tendency to overstuff their bags with junk whether if their bag is small or large. Hence, the larger bags naturally become extremely heavy. For this reason, many women have changed back to smaller purses—forcing them to put less junk in their bags.

Overall, big bags had its fair share of shine in 2008; however, it was obvious that this trend would not last forever. Large bags didn’t look proportional, were composed of cheaper materials, and were simply too heavy on the shoulders. Adios, big designer handbags!
