Ed Hardy Sales Have Peaked for the US Market

Ed Hardy sales have reached a dead end for the American market. Like every fashion brand out there, Ed Hardy had its fair share of popularity for the past 3 – 4 years. Ed Hardy started in 2003 and became a tremendous hit for everyday fashion. They simply featured Ed Hardy, the tattooist, designs on 100% Cotton T-Shirts and sold them for approximately 100 bucks a pop. Once the celebrities got their hands on them, Ed Hardy’s sales sky rocketed! They soon incorporated the designs onto hats, shoes, bags, jackets, and the list continues. However, now the time has come for Ed Hardy to retire its line for the American market. Some of you may notice that they are beginning to sell their excess inventory to Costco, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. What’s Ed Hardy’s next move in this tough economic market?
Ed Hardy reaching its peak in America may sound like bad news; however, it isn’t really that bad for Christian Audigier (CEO of Ed Hardy Designs). He plans on moving his sales throughout the globe in other countries. Ed Hardy’s designs have just begun getting popular in Europe, South America, India, and Asia. Ed Hardy will now be focusing their marketing and sales in these countries rather than continue on in America. Is this considered good news or bad news for the American consumers? I’ll let our readers be the judge of this one.
