BacteriaOnBags

When we think about our handbags we rarely think of them as transportation for germs. We think of them as an extension of ourselves. Who would have thought that when a lab tested the bottoms of numerous handbags, it was found that 1out of 4 handbags was carrying some harmful strain of bacteria- for example E. coli.

So what can we do to help make sure that our handbags are not making us sick in our homes?

1.    Periodically (if possible daily) wipe down the outside bottoms of your bags with antibacterial wipes.

2.    Either always keep your bag off the floor or always on the floor (whichever works better in your daily life).

3.    When there are hooks around-use them! Especially in restrooms. If worse comes to worse, it’s up to you if you want to carry around a purse hook in your bag to use.

4.    Never ever place your bag on the table which you’re going to consume food at or even at the kitchen counter. If you eat at your desk, don’t put it there either

5.    Purchase bags with feet on the bottom. While this won’t fully prevent germs from getting on your bag, it will at least help a little bit.

Doesn’t this just give you a whole new outlook on your bag?
