Where do you place your handbag when you go out to dinner? I find that it takes me a couple of moments to figure exactly where a good place for it will be. I find that I’m not the only one that is faced with this dilemma. I was having lunch with my girlfriends the other day, and I just simply watched her and laughed. She was trying to figure where exactly she was going to put her oversized Gucci handbag, I finally just said to her, “Just give it to me”.

I realized that I’m faced with this dilemma more at restaurants than anywhere else. So where is the proper or best place to put your handbag?

Here are my trial and error attempts:

1.    Behind me on in my seat

Pros: Works most of the time.

Cons: If the seat is too small there’s not enough room for me to sit   

         If the chair has a gap between the seat and the back rest, my bag falls through.

2.    On My Lap

Pros: I know it’s always there

Con: Always slips while I’m eating, so makes it difficult

3.    On the Table

Pros: You can always keep an eye on your bag.

Cons: Only works if your bag is small or if it’s a big table          

          Not proper table etiquette           

          Bag may be dirty to put on table where you will be eating

4.    Under the Table

Pros: Haven’t found any

Cons: May have to put on the floor          

         May forget your bag when you leave

5.    In an empty seat

Pros: Perfect

Cons: There’s no always an empty seat for your bag.
