Marc JacobsMarc Jacobsmarcjacobs2010-1

With the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York just ending, there’s a lot of new things to talk about!! But first, or course I will have to begin with Marc Jacobs only because I love him, especially when he is seen out and about strutting around with his black Hermes Birkin. His Spring 2010 collection is quite interesting I must say. He wanted to portray a fantasy like show where the clothes are futuristic as he says “we’re living 20 years from now”. And he definitely did. Every images were Cirque Du Soleil-esque to me, with that white makeup and painted eyes and lips and the tight buns on the heads. The clothes seemed costume-ish too with the intricate ruffles and the interesting shaped moccasins/sandals. The bags caught my eyes, but not necessarily in a good way. Most Marc’s new bags are bold in color as well as in design, with ruffles, fringes and tassels. Personally I am not a fringe nor a tassel person. Fringes remind me of Pocahontas and tassels remind me of window draperies. So, no thank you. At the end of the day, I guess I could say I am slightly disappointed in his bags. Let’s hope next season’s will be better!
