Fendi Sequin and Wool Embellished Tote

Fashion designers confuse me. They’re able to create such beautiful designs as well as shockingly revolting designs. But I guess everyone has bad days. The bag above is I’m guessing a result from a very bad day. The Fendi Embellished Tote looks like a partly butchered fish combined with a feather dress tail to create a shiny peacock looking bag. This bag caught my attention because it was on the Going, Going, Gone sale at theOutnet.com earlier today. With the original price of $7190, would anyone still buy it even with a good discount? Apparently so, since the winner of the reverse bid bought it for $1642.93. This bag is a multicolored wool and leather tote with sequins on the side, wool fringes, layered ‘discs’ on front and back, leather straps and a canvas lining. With 17” in width and 13” in height, that’s a pretty large peacock to carry. I know that Fendi is known for their fur, but attaching a wool fringe to the bag to look fur-like does not give justice to the brand name. Just because you had a bad day does not excuse you to put awful bags on the shelves. Especially with Karl Lagerfeld designing for Fendi, I expected much better.
