Louis Vuitton World Cup Travel Case

So the World Cup has been over more than two weeks ago, but I just saw a picture of the special FIFA World Cup trophy case made by none other than Louis Vuitton. It’s funny—the relationship between Louis Vuitton and me. I get highly amused by non-handbag items that LV creates, such as the LV tattoos shown on models during their runway show, or the recently discovered house in Mexico that was painted completely in LV monogram, or the LV trash bags that Kanye West uses. This time, Louis Vuitton has custom made a World Cup trophy case for 2010. It was ordered by the FIFA of course and handmade by one master craftsman in the LV Asnieres workshop where all LV special orders are made. This case is covered with the traditional LV monogram canvas with brass lock and corners and is lined with dark brown suede that has a pocket to hold the white gloves that is included as well. It’s meant to hold the trophy that weighs 6.175 kg and that is made of 18-carat gold. Go figure. An expensive trophy must call for an expensive case.
