Steve Madden has always striked me as a shoe store, not so much a handbag store. But as I’ve looked at Steve Madden’s website over the years, I started looking more at their handbags. I know that Steve Madden has taken some heat more recently for copying shoe designs from famous high end designers like Jimmy Choo, and so I can’t help but think that they have also copied designs for their handbags. I won’t say that they have indeed copied designs, but I can definitely see that they were inspired by some high end handbags such as Valentino’s floral bag designs. When I first looked at their selection of bags, I will honestly admit that I did not really like their designs. However, now my opinions have changed. I visited their site last week and found two really cute bags that are pictured here. The one above is called the BFlames. What really attracted me are the studs on the bottom. If you know me, I love simplicity, and these studs give the bag just enough oomph to make it stand out, making it look cute rather than punk rocker style. The one on the bottom is called the BWeave. It looks a lot like the BFlames, just minus the studs and the top flap over. Instead of the studs, this bag has a weave design on the bottom that gives it a Bottega flair. Given that the materials of Steve Madden bags are not leather, they are much more affordable than the big name brands’. For being cute, affordable and practical, I give Steve Madden bags a thumbs up.
